This illustration is either a "hellavant critique of consumer culture" or an excuse to draw kitsch.

Possibly a little from column A and a little from column B.

Mike and I were brain storming yesterday morning about a flier for an upcoming nerdcore show and I said that since the show was the same day that the new iPhone comes out, it would be cool to draw a flier of a line going into the Apple store… then a line going from the exit of the store to the entrance to the music venue.

Anyways, Mike made a great mock-up of the image using very simplistic figures. To me, the people looked like ghosts… and that’s where the idea for this image came from.

This is a pen and ink illustration colored with a cheap set of watercolors I found in the trash (so was this one).
