KickStarter for publishing and things

Instead of searching for a publisher, Jamie Tanner decided to ask his fans for backing on his newest graphic novel. Using a service called KickStarter, Jamie has posted his project details and the amount he wishes to raise. Supporters can then offer him money to qualify for various gifts such as owning one of the books finished pages or appearing as a character in the comic.
If for some reason I was to ever lose my job, I would seriously consider using KickStarter to help fund a graphic novel or clothing line.

He has all ready made his goal and is going beyond it now. I would expect to see many more artist jumping on this band wagon soon.

Becky Dreistadt is using it for her book too and it looks like she is about half way right now and she just started it 71 days ago, not bad I would say. Here is the link to theirs: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/beckyandfra
