Thus Spoke The Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal

subtitled “2001 Elephants Dying”

Quite possibly the most epic fail of all time!

Edit: Thanks to an insightful comment from Heather, I think the origin of the above track has been solved. I believe the track above was performed by the Portsmouth Sinfonia, a concept band comprised entirely out of folks who didn’t know how to play any instruments, or at least didn’t know how to play whatever instrument they were currently playing. Like The Mrs Miller Band and other “bad” novelty acts of the time, The Portsmouth Sinfonia gained a cult following. Weirder still, Brian Eno produced their first two albums and even played clarinet in the orchestra. They released 4 albums in the late 70s, and their single for “Classical Muddley” even peaked in the UK’s top 40 chart. Sadly, none of their music seems to be sold digitally, but you can find albums on the eBayhole if you are willing to shell out the money.

That sounds like the Portsmouth Sinfonia:

Which has an interesting background even if the music is rather painful to listen to.

Thank you so much! This link is fascinating… and I think you are totally right! This has to be the Portsmouth Sinfonia.
