I attended a recent Steam Punk themed show at the DNA lounge to catch Unwoman playing with Vernian Process. During Vernian Process’s last song of the night, a cover of Gogol Bordello’s “Start Wearing Purple“, a gentleman in a knitted Cthulu costume came out to perform backing vocals. It was a pretty wicked outfit. Here’s a video.
And my tweets from the night:
“I see one Mad Men inspired ensemble here, which has me wondering… When will 1950’s Suburbanpunk be a thing?”
“Also: there is one zombie Nazi outfit. Pretty sure that’s not a subgenre of the steampunk… But I could be wrong. “Steam heil”?”
“Egads! That gentleman has a top hat so tall that it requires 3 pairs of goggles to hold it up!”
“Whoa, a knit cthulu costume! That dude just put the “craft” in Lovecraft! http://flic.kr/p/8Htaw2″
“I’ve run out of Fernet and Coke… And I have no more drink tickets… Time to walk home… but Vernian Process frakkin’ killed it tonight!”
