In the mid-70’s, Jim Henson and crew filmed two pilot episodes of the Muppet Show. One of these pilots, The Muppet Show: Sex And Violence, really shows the format that would later be used for the Muppet Show. Though the show has many similar settings and characters, it’s interesting to see Henson use a character named Nigel as the show’s host/stage manager. This character is pretty much just a more human version of one of Henson’s oldest characters, Kermit the Frog, who obviously ended up as the star of the Muppet Show series.
