Please excuse my total noobery.. But what manner of SORCEROUS synthesizer / beat machine is that? I’m looking to start up a kit and that looks like its what I’m after.

It looks like an Akai APC40 http://www.ableton.com/pages/2009/apc_40/home

Probably being used to control Abelton Live.
