I’m heading up to Portland this very weekend for the Battery Powered Orchestra Workshop. I’ve actually wanted to do a laptop-less electronic music festival in SF for some time now, so I’m really excited to check out something similar. If anyone reading this happens to be there, please say “hi”. Despite being an introvert, I really would like to meet and chat with many strangers this weekend:)
Also happening in Portland this weekend is the Zine Symposium and the opening of Self Edge‘s new shop. I’ll try my best to stop by both of those while I’m in town. It’s going to be a crazy weekend.
Next week I’ll be giving a talk on Nanoloop and pocket sized musical composition at the Electronic Music Meetup. After the talk I’ll be doing a musical performance including two brand new tracks with vocals. The meet up starts at 7pm, Weds August 14th at SAE Institute (450 Bryant Street #100, San Francisco, CA).
My friends at Flipboard are hosting their very own Instawalk through SF’s Chinatown on August 24th, ending at the Empress of China (a real San Francisco treasure!). I’ll be there shooting pics with my iPhone. The photowalk will start at 11am at the Dragon’s Gate in SF. All photogs are welcome.
And finally I’ll be tabling at SF Zine Fest again this year. Zinefest is my favorite place to sell and trade my art (yes, it’s better than APE), so I’m stoked to announce I’ll also be teaching a workshop on making comics and art with the help of social media and crowdfunding. My workshop, “Digital DIY”, will from 1-2pm on Sunday September 1st.
