
Back in February, the folks at Photobooth SF offered a special series of tintype lockets for couples. These portraits where shot on a 35mm camera that had been specially modified to hold tintype plates, that would later get developed and then cut to fit into each half of a locket. As a Valentine’s gift, Christine booked our appointment and we both decided we’d like to have a locket set of our own. Since each tintype is unique, I thought it’d be great to do a “traditional portrait” locket and a “silly face” locket. You can see the resulting tintypes at the top of this post (in gif form!).
And for the curious, here’s what the tintypes looked like before they were cut down (each photo is about 1.5″ tall.
