The Flatjack Incident (2022 version)

I dug up one of my old comics and tried adding color to it. I think it turned out swell! “The Flatjack Incident” was drawn and printed in 2009 in pen, but the digital colors were added in Procreate yesterday. This is based on a true story that took place during the first day of the Mediocre Tour, a nerdcore rap tour I did with Beefy and MC Router.

The text says "Sometimes ordinary people can find the extraordinare strength to overcome disastrous events. This is the story of what happened to me at a Denny's". The next panel shows me and my friends at a booth, waiting for food. The text says "I had just ordered. I wish my meal came with pancakes." The next panel shows our server delivering two big plates of food on our table, the server says "Here your Grand Slam & your pancakes." In the next panel, I say "Woot!" as I start pouring syrup onto my pancakes. The last panel on this page is a close up as I cut into the delicious pancakes.

Those are someone else's. I'm sorry." In the next few panels are a close up of my face as I go from surprised to confused, to angry. The text says "Time... Stood... Still.. We've probably all wondered what we would do in this same situation. My body was paralyzed. I was out of ideas. Suddenly I felt my muscles tense and my instincts kick in as I..." The final panel is me staring at server as I lift up a knife towards him.

The text says "... slammed my face into the pacakes." The next panel shows my friends staring in shock and horror at me, as I still have my face planted into a giant stack of pancakes. The server is seen from behind. In the next panel the server says "I'll just get aonther order" as he looks at my syrup covered face. I look back at him sternly. In the final panel the text says "teh winner!" as I finally take my first bite of a pancake. I'm smiling as syrup drips from my glasses and beard.
