Those are just a few of my favorite posts from 2017, and they probably wouldn’t have gone online had it not been for the Iron Blogger SF challenge.
Sometimes it better to just get things done than it is to get things perfect. That’s why I love participating in the 24 Hour Comic challenge each year, and that’s why I keep signing up for the Iron Blogger competition. Iron Blogger was started by Ben Gleitz with the goal of getting friends to share one blog post a week. It doesn’t have to be fancy, it doesn’t have to be long, it just has to be online before Monday morning… each week… for a year.
Sometimes it causes anxiety, sometimes it causes inspiration, but either way it provides a simple excuse to get something out there. Because of it, I’ve published at least 60 posts on this site in 2017. A few of them felt half assed at the time, but later I was super stoked to have just gotten them done at all. So I’m grateful to my Iron Blogger friends for keeping the pressure on me to keep churning out posts. I’m looking forward to doing it again next year.
If you are interested in joining our Iron Blogger SF group, or starting one of your own, you can do so here. The code is open source, so feel free to adapt it.
