American Analog: One Rare Moment

From Duane’s perspective, it probably looks like more of a cockpit than a pair of crutches. The horns, compasses, lights, buzzers, pen holders, and various other attachments are a mix of function and self expression. “Some people stare at their phones and never look up, so that’s why I have these horns. This is my emergency siren… Skateboarders are so loud that I needed something louder.” After chatting with Duane, and taking these pictures, he handed me his business card which reads “One rare moment, it’s up to you now.”. I asked him about it and he said, “This is our moment. I meet so many people because of these crutches. It’s great to be able to connect with the people around you and share a moment.”
